Kung Fu Jungle...

Twas not the night Red feared, but the scraggly trees with their biting, biting comments!
"ooh, is that what you're wearing?"
"Here she comes in her 'camouflage'"
'Y'know that's not going to scare any wolves don't you?"
But still she persevered, her gas lantern burning low. The prospect of Wolf-Pie at the woodcutters house being just the incentive she needed!

And lo Barnaby did spy 'pon the orizon a ship of great size!
Or is that shop? (Barnaby wasn't much good with letters...)

The old insisted he was still ok to fight, and with a stick like that we weren't going to argue!

slime and monsters and stuff... it's almost Xmas eve!

The yellow princess and her Woodland chum ride high! The princess is friends to all manner of creature, big and small, flesh and steel! Today she stands hard against the powers of meanness and bad ideas! Her water rifle is full, and action is on the cusp... of... um... happening! YEAH!

The Scarlett Pilot is the Yellow Princess' older brother. He spent 100yrs trapped in the hollow earth, during which time his experimental jet went online, became sentient and then upgraded itself with the power of awe-some! WOOOSH!

Prairie Dog Sue (also Prairie Dog Sioux).
We don't know much about who Sue was, or what she did. It's likely she had some sort of cowgirl motif going on, which is odd because this...pseudo daguerreotype was found in the ruins of Venice.

MONTER-SAURUS! Part monster, part dinosaur, ALL FUNK!

Sometimes mice are scared of stuff. Oh crap indeed!

Emporer Tiger-ette. This guy was going to be a CNY visual, except I kinda forgot I'd drawn him. So... here he is now!

Killer slime - the creature stepped out of Adrian Liew's site... ooze ooze...

Santa came to me on the Train...

Somewhere along the line my kids have come up with the idea that Santa Claus, giver of gifts and generally kind person, is also a figure to be feared.

I've always told them Santa is a program, running on a supercomputer buried beneath the north polar ice cap. The computer downloads a limited 'self' into 360 robot simulacra (one for each degree of longitude) (or is it latitude?) (no, I'm pretty sure it's longitude), ok, anyways, 360 robots. And they all run hither and yon. Possibly even helter skelter. Across their slice of the globe delivering pressies to unwitting sleepers.

So how, I ask, do my kids insist Santa eats sleeping children (unless of course their father is waiting, watching, ready to use his Venusian Judo).

kids. HAH!

Zombie Gentleman

This old man he played one,
he played one upon my brain...

with a knick knack paddywack,
this old man came shambling, shambling, SHAMBLING...

The worst thing, the absolute worst thing about living in that part of town was the zombies. They'd shamble into the shop and then stand about bleating about brains and the lack of representation for the post-dead constituency...

Stoopid zombies!

Of Monkeys and Men

Here be the monkey king, all a-floaty and mysterious! (he's talking to the king of rocks, who will not let the pilgrims pass)
Jin Tanah - the spirit of the place (as soon as I know more about the Jin Tanah, I'll write it up, but for now be afraid of his awesome place-based magicks!)

Toyol - the magicked monster created from a dead child, and sent to do evil in the world! Scarier than all heck!
Meanwhile, offworld - a rougher crowd of non-humans you'll find nowhere (ok, you will, but not in this drawings)
And then there was power-armour (useful for washing the car, walking the dog and fighting the mongrel-cur who would intrude upon your post-apocolyptian (is that a word?) idyl!!!
My favourite drawing - all of us, AND it's signed by Wolverine!!!

Meanwhilerer... under the sea. A prawn can't get no respeck!
Nor can a cutey bird. (drew this while on the phone)
Some sort of tin warriorAnd now... I sleep.

stuff and non-sense.

What if your mummy made a cup of tea, and the tea was haunted by a Djin from the far orient? Well... she'd get a fright AND 3 wishes! But always remember to make the last wish 'go back in the lamp' (or porcelain cup in this case).

This isn't finished, but I'm liking it enough to post is already. Please like it too.

MONSTER HEADS!

Ok, so I was discussing projects at work, and needed the extra focus that comes from occupied hands. And lo! These beasties popped into existance. I dunno what they are yet, but they're not vegetarian, I'm telling you that much!

ZOMBIE DINOSAURS

Zombie triceratops (the 2nd coolest of all dinosaurs) meets a Moa. And before anyone points out the impossible timelines here, let me remind you ZOMBIES ARE REAL!!!! Just ponder that for a moment, and then imagine how many dead dinosaur bits are inside your car's engine RIGHT NOW!!!!!

'ROWRRRRRGGGGGGGHH!' (Translated from Dinosaurese: 'brains').

RANDOM VILLAGERS
He is the hunter, he hunts. With a bow and laquer arrows. Cos he's cool. And stylish.

There's some more from this series, other folks in the village mostly. I think I need ot update the look of this blog soon (and post more content).

Now go to sleep!

Last night, I couldn't get to sleep at all...

Actually, I could, but the song's been running through my head since I wrote it there in the header, so...
KRAKEN AWAKES! (but did she ever sleep?)
This pic is really a cry of 'YE ELDER GODS BUT I DO LOVES ME SOME HECKBOY!' (and did you know there's a film coming out? Woot!)
Melchior, the easily exacerbated pig (he's got SUCH a temper). I have no idea why he's so angry, but he's wearing a nice dressing gown and it's the middle of the day, so maybe he's a shift-working pig woken up by kids playing cricket in the nets just over his back fence? Yeah, I reckon that's about the size of it...

This is unashamedly art. started as a doodle during a REALLY important meeting, turned into layering effects and negative space. I like the hint of terror in the suggestion of a skull.

Father's day card from #1 Son (I like the rendering of my whiskeriness) This is his first post, and maybe he'll have more! Maybe...
